Update: Deadline extended to Friday October 15, 2021.
The Midwest Building Decarbonization Coalition is committed to being a movement for everybody to equitably decarbonize the building sector in the Midwest. To do that, we recognize the need to center equity in our own work as we address the many challenges in the field.
To build equity in the movement we are offering two sources of funding: one to support participation by BIPOC individuals and organizations directly involved in equity, environmental justice and building decarbonization; and one to offer Empowerment Grants to take action on one or more of our five domains of work.
Please review the documents (links below) and let us know if you have any questions. We are glad you are interested enough in our work to find this page, and certainly hope you will apply for a participation stipend and/or empowerment grant if you feel inclined. Please reach out to us with any questions.
See you in the movement.
Applications are due for Round 1 of our Coalition stipends and grants Friday, October 15.
Proposal submitted after this time, will be considered on a rolling basis every two months.
You may apply for both funding sources.
Ranging from $3,000-$8,000 per year, these stipends are specifically for organizations that, due to financial constraints, would not otherwise be able to fully participate in Coalition activities.
Ranging from $35,000-$50,000, these grants are for energizing your local work in equitable building decarbonization. We hope these will a) help us build the base of the coalition in each state; and b) develop critical capabilities to generate continually increasing returns to equity in the building decarbonization movement.
- Online site visits by members of the Grants sub-committee of the Equity Working Group completed by the end of October.
